Wanted Man Asks for and Receives Ride from Police 

On August 8th 2024 patrols received a call for assistance at a local business. Upon their arrival they made contact with Darryl Williamson (54) of Harlem, NY in the parking lot. Upon speaking with Mr Williamson, he requested to be taken to a local train station as he had no other method of transportation. Further conversation and investigation revealed that Mr Williamson had 2 outstanding criminal warrants out of NJ Transit and Denville for Burglary. Patrols placed Mr Williamson under arrest for the warrants and transported him back to police headquarters for processing. He was then turned over to the custody of Denville Police Department.

 

Vehicle With No Plates Driven by Intoxicated Driver

On August 26th 2024 Patrols were conducting routine patrol in the area of Kingsland Road when they observed a vehicle with no plates stopped in the roadway. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Paul Sanchez (28) of Boonton, open containers of alcohol were observed in the driver compartment of the vehicle. After speaking further with Mr Sanchez, patrols conducted standardized field sobriety tests on him which ultimately resulted in his arrest for DWI. Mr Sanchez was transported back to police headquarters where he a breath test returned results of twice the legal limit, Mr Sanchez was charged with DWI, Unlicensed Operation, Unregistered Vehicle, Uninsured Vehicle, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving before being released to a responsible party pending a future court date.
